- 3km of trench pipeline works require 3000 wellpoints
Khansaheb Sykes have been awarded the largest current wellpoint dewatering project in Dubai, working for their UAE sponsor (Khansaheb Civil Engineering), continuing an excellent working relationship (spanning over 40 years).
Khansaheb Sykes are using a wellpoint dewatering solution enabling the dry construction of the infrastructure at the Al Furjan development in Dubai. This project includes wellpoint dewatering for 3km of trench pipeline works (approximately 3000 wellpoints), wellpoint dewatering of a shallow excavation for construction of a sewage pumping station and wellpoint dewatering for the construction of multiple manholes.
The multiple wellpoint systems utilize 42 Sykes WP150/60 dewatering and booster pumps with an estimated total requirement of 65 pumps before the end of project. Due to number of pumps running concurrently, Khansaheb Civil Engineering has constructed a series of 5 lagoons to contain the extracted groundwater, each capable of storing approximately 75,000m3 of water.
